I enjoy learning new things about my hair; its texture, ways to achieve best hair days possible, etc.
So, I just so happened to stumble across this article on curlynikki penned by Karen MacIntosh. It really gave me insight into what methods work for my unique combination of hair.
Today, I cowashed with my v05, and used my "great detangler" leave in, and curling custard. Method is described in the article, it's a great read.

I've Been Featured!
I am squealing with excitement you guys! When I woke up, I received an email of a question someone sent in to my tumblr ask box saying they saw my feature I submitted a few weeks ago to CurlyNikki. What news to wake up to! I was aware it was coming this week, I've been checking everyday like a madwoman (lol). I received a lot of positive feedback from the (currently four) comments under it. *As a tear stings the side of my eye and threatens to fall* lol!
I am nothing short of ecstatic that I was granted the chance to share a part of my life story and natural hair explorations and possibly to inspire others who are curious about going natural and finally making the decision to do the big chop. Truly a blessing from above. I believe my purpose is to inspire others and spread peace love and positivity.
If you guys haven't seen it already, here is the link.

Twist N Curl (TNC) on my friend's hair
My friend asked me to help her to get back to her natural texture. She doesn't relax, but her hair has become heat damaged within the last year. So I showed her some sites like CurlyNikki and BGLH and we did a TNC on her hair. I used KCCC on her hair after she washed and moisturized with her own products.

Frohawk at long last!
I am EXTREMELY thrilled to share that after 3 months of hair growth, I can now style my hair in a frohawk!
It may seem like a rapid time to outsiders (like my RA when I was experimenting with it a while ago) but to me it seemed like a LIFETIME!
Throughout my hair's life as fully natural, it seems that I have been taking the necessary precautions to retain/promote length. Great!
I have experienced trial and error, but mostly with products I tried to make myself, but trial and error nonetheless.
I am now even MORE excited to see what my hair can do now that I am accustomed to my natural, as is everyone else, and my hands and the occasional stray hands (that get slapped lol) do not roam as freely in my hair. Hopefully this will result in the elimination of fairy knots I am forced to cut out to promote happy hair, as well as splits and mild breakage.
I am also realizing (thanks to a post at CurlyNikki) that although my hair is thick/dense, I have mostly thin strands with a little medium/thick mixed in. I am confident I will meet my hair goal of chin length hair by the end of April if I continue the healthier hair practices and adding some more methods to care for my strands.
Stay tuned in for the results!
