I'm going out to meet my cousin and one of our friends. Didn't have enough time to twist my hair so I did a flat twist halo around the front of my head! Put a satin cap around the rest of my fro, then followed the
cocoa&creme head wrap tutorial and voila! G2G! Smooches!

I made my own hair mix!

So after a bit of research on the ingredients and reading up on how other naturals mix their concoctions. Pictured below is the ingredients I used, as well as the cup I used to measure. Upon my research, it was also recommended to do a small batch the first time around. I currently have my mixture setting in the fridge. After it sets, I plan to whip it with a hand mixer. I will do a follow up post with results and the steps I took. Smooches! :-*

1-2-11 UPDATE: I re whipped my mix the other day, and added olive oil to it. I will update with a picture of the results as promised!

Newly Natural

Hello all! =]
I had made the decision to stop perming and grow out my natural hair this year. Though I considered it my freshman year of college, I continued to perm my hair before returning to school after winter or summer break.
I began my transition with braids towards the end of July. My last perm was sometime between end of may/beginning of june when I came home for summer break.
When the time for another touchup came, I decided against it and had some braids installed by a friend of mine before my junior year started in August 2010. The last time putting heat to my hair was when I blowdryed my hair prior to getting it braided.
I BC'd on October 25th 2010. The rest is hair history. Its been almost 2 months now, & I LOVE it.
